Even though healthy green smoothies seem to be all the rage the last few years, some people just can’t get over the colour ~ but I’m here to tell you that green smoothies can not only taste delicious, but you can reap some amazing benefits from them {if made properly}.

Green Smoothie 101 For Beginners

For starters, green smoothies are exactly what the name suggests ~ green. Most times they get their green colour from a variety of different leafy greens added, but the green tinge can also come in other forms such as fruit and superfoods such as spirulina (which has the most beautiful greenish/blue colour in my opinion)

Essentially, green smoothies are a mix of nutrient-rich leafy greens, vitamin-rich fruit + a liquid base. Other beneficial add-ins include healthy fats + superfoods to boost the green smoothie detox + cleanse benefits.
